Thalassaemic Charitable Trust and PGIMER Observe Poshan Maah & National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

Chandigarh, October 3, 2025: The Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Thalassaemic Charitable Trust (TCT), organized the 320th Blood Donation Camp of the Trust on October 1 to mark Poshan Maah and National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The camp was dedicated to thalassaemia patients and others in need of regular blood support.

The camp was dedicated to thalassaemia patients and others in need of regular blood support.
Prof. (Dr) R.K. Ratho, Dean (Academics), PGIMER, was the Chief Guest. He was welcomed by Prof. (Dr) R.R. Sharma, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, and Mr. Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary, TCT. A cake-cutting ceremony was held with thalassaemic patients and faculty to commemorate the day.
Senior faculty including Prof. (Dr) Akla Khadwal, Prof. (Dr) Suchet Sachdev, and Dr. Sangeeta Pachar joined in honouring blood donors with certificates and badges. A total of 66 donors, including faculty members, participated in the camp.
The Trust and PGIMER thanked all donors and highlighted the urgent need for voluntary blood donation to support patients. The contribution of M/s Unipro Techno Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. for its continued support was also acknowledged.
