Haryana/Hisar: Advocate Lal Bahadur Khowal, State Chairman, Haryana Congress Legal Department has said that the action taken by the police against Advocate Rajat Kalsan clearly reflects a biased attitude and political pressure.
He said that this matter is not just about action against an advocate but is a matter related to the freedom and dignity of the lawyer fraternity because we saw on social media how the police is trying to shame them by making them sit on the ground.
Advocate Khowal stressed that in such cases, all advocates should rise above caste boundaries and protest unitedly in a constitutional and democratic way so that a clear message goes to the police-administration and the government that any arbitrariness, political interference or repressive action against lawyers will not be accepted.
He also said that if the police is given the freedom to target a lawyer like this today without caring about the law, then tomorrow it will be easy to implicate any advocate in false cases. Therefore, the advocate community will have to demonstrate its collective strength and unity.
