Panchkula: On the occasion of 86th martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh, Panchkula Jannayak Janata Party District President OP Sihag, while paying tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh in a program organized by Kamboj Sabha Panchkula and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Jagriti Manch at Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk (Sector-5 and Sector-11), remembered Shaheed Udham Singh and said that today we are breathing the air of freedom because of the supreme sacrifices made by such brave martyrs for the country.
OP Sihag said that Shaheed Udham Singh had taken revenge on 13 March 1940 from the enemy of humanity and the person responsible for the death of 1200 people, Michael O' Dyer, the murderer of hundreds of innocent Indians in 1919 in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, by going to London and killing him 21 years later in a public program. He said that this beloved son of Mother India was hanged by the British government on 31 July 1940.
On this occasion, those who paid tribute to martyr Udham Singh included Kamboj Sabha president Manmohan Kamboj, prominent people of his community, besides JJP leader KC Bhardwaj, councilor Rajesh Nishad, Ishwar Singhmar, Hiraman Verma etc.
