Punjab State Food Commission Member Preeti Chawla makes surprise visit to schools and Anganwadi centres.

Nawanshahr- Punjab State Food Commission Member Preeti Chawla today made a surprise visit to various government schools and Anganwadi centres of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and inspected the beneficial schemes. Commission Member Preeti Chawla checked the mid-day meal and Anganwadi centre in the government primary school of village Sanawa. Apart from this, she made a surprise visit to Government Senior Secondary School Langroan, Government Primary High School Saloh and Government Primary Smart School Jethu Majara.

Commission Member Preeti Chawla checked the mid-day meal and Anganwadi centre in the government primary school of village Sanawa. Apart from this, she made a surprise visit to Government Senior Secondary School Langroan, Government Primary High School Saloh and Government Primary Smart School Jethu Majara.
She gave instructions to maintain the mid-day meal food safety register in those schools, provide clean food to children and maintain cleanliness while preparing and serving food. The member of the commission discussed mid-day meal with the school students and also ate mid-day meal with the children himself.
He directed that the TDS and drinking water quality should be checked from time to time by the concerned department in the schools. Apart from this, he directed to get the health check-up of the school students and also directed to conduct medical check-up of the mid-day meal workers. While checking the Anganwadi centers, he instructed the in-charges and helpers to inform maximum beneficiaries about the latest schemes of the government.
He instructed to install the helpline number of the Punjab State Food Commission in all the government schools, government ration depots and Anganwadi centers of the district. He said that if any beneficiary has any complaint regarding the schemes of the National Food Security Act, then he can register his complaint on the helpline number of the commission 9876764545.
