During this, children were given various information related to cyber crime, drug prevention and consumer rights. Along with this, information was given about various schemes being run in the interest of consumers, in which services like mobile number portability, complaint redressal system and DND were prominent.
Ranjit Singh said in his address that cases of cyber crime are increasing rapidly in the digital age. He alerted children, teachers and consumers that it is very important to be cautious while using the Internet, mobile applications and social media.
He particularly emphasized that no person should share his personal information, bank details, ATM password or OTP with anyone. He said that TRAI is constantly working to effectively resolve the complaints of telephone consumers and to provide relief from unwanted commercial calls and messages.
He informed that if anyone is a victim of cyber crime, he can lodge a complaint through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal www.cybercrime.gov.in or the National Cyber Helpline Number 1930. Apart from this, he also told about the use of "Sanchar Sathi" app developed by the Government of India.
Apart from this, Council member Surendra Sharma informed the participants about the weights and measures law and told what precautions consumers should take while shopping. He gave the message to the children to stay away from addiction and adopt positive thinking in life.
On this occasion, Principal of Scholars Unified School Dheeraj Sharma, DFSC Rajeev Sharma, Finance Secretary of the Council Anokhi Ram, school staff and others were present.
