Instructions to the District Administration to spread awareness about the "Compensation to Victims" scheme.

The District and Sessions Judge said that free legal aid is being provided by the District Legal Services Authority, which the people of the district should take maximum advantage of. He asked the District Administration to make people aware about the "Compensation to Victims" scheme, so that the families of those who lost their lives in road accidents can get compensation of Rs 2 lakh on time.
The District and Sessions Judge also asked the concerned NGOs to create awareness among the students in schools and colleges about de-addiction and obtaining driving licenses.
He gave instructions to give maximum publicity to the National Lok Adalat to be held on 13th September and appealed to the people to save time and money by filing their cases in this court. He said that the decision of the Lok Adalat is recognized like a civil decree.
On this occasion, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and Secretary Neeraj Goyal informed that from 1st April to 30th June, legal aid was provided to 417 people, legal advice was given to 159 people, 416 seminars were provided, 19 cases were settled through mediation center and decisions were given by hearing 3 cases on the spot through camp court in central jail.
On this occasion, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ajaypal Singh, SDM Gursimranjit Kaur, Jail Superintendent H.S. Gill, SP Dr. Mukesh Kumar, District Bar Association President P.S. were present. Ghuman, District Attorney Varinder Kumar, DPRO Hardev Singh Aasi, Ajjiyapal Singh Sahni, Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami, Darshan Kaushal and retired Lieutenant General Jasbir Singh Dhillon were also present.
