In this regard, the Chandigarh Administration has informed the Chief Secretary of Haryana in a letter that the Administration has issued a notification regarding the amendment in the Government Accommodation (Chandigarh Administration Common Pool) Allotment Rules, 1996.
As per the amended provisions, if an officer or employee is residing in a government accommodation of a category below his entitlement, then out of turn allotment for higher category accommodation may be considered. However, this will be done only if he has completed five years of his current accommodation allotment and is eligible for at least one category higher accommodation and his current accommodation is of Type-6 or below. In all other cases, accommodation allotment will be done only on the basis of seniority list.
