Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, February 11, 2025: In continuation of the program issued by the State Election Commission, Punjab for preparation of voter lists in preparation for the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections-2025, voter lists have been made available in the SDM offices and BDPO offices of the district yesterday, so that people can register their claims and objections by looking at these voter lists.
Giving this information, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary said that the date for submitting claims for creating a new vote or making corrections in the existing vote or registering objection on any vote has been fixed from 11 to 18 February. Claims and objections will be received only in the respective SDM offices.
He further informed that as per the instructions of the State Election Commission, a special campaign will be run to receive claims and objections on Friday, 14 February 2025 and Saturday, 15 February 2025 and claims and objections will be received from as many eligible persons as possible.
He informed that after the publication of 'Draft Voter Roll' tomorrow, the claims/objections received from 11 February to 18 February will be settled by 27 February and the final publication of the voter list will be done on 03 March 2025.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer appealed to the voters of the villages to submit their claims and objections within the stipulated time so that they do not have to face any problem later.
