Hoshiarpur- Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna visited the flood-affected areas of Tanda constituency. Khanna said after seeing the condition of the flood-affected people that “Whoever is near knows the same”. He said that only those people who are affected themselves know the condition of the flood victims and their plight.
Khanna said that people’s houses were destroyed in the flood, people are having to leave their children in safe places or with their distant relatives, properties have been destroyed and there has also been a huge loss of livestock.
He said that in this heart-wrenching scene, the social service organizations and individuals who have set an example of humanity by serving the people are praiseworthy. Khanna said that service and cooperation of each other as a sign of humanity in times of disaster is seen only in India.
Khanna thanked the social service organizations and social workers engaged in serving the flood-affected people. BJP leader Jawahar Khurana was also present on the occasion.
