Hoshiarpur - On the first day of the Shri Hanuman Katha organized by Maharishi Bhriguved Vidyalaya at Shakti Mandir, Shri Govinddev Giri Ji Maharaj, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Ayodhya, began the Katha with Vidyavat Poojan and Swastivachan by the students of the Vidyalaya.
Swami Ji narrated the wonderful and divine story of the birth of Hanuman Ji to the audience and said that pleased with the difficult penance of Vanara Raj Kesari and Anjana, Pawan Dev gave birth to Shri Hanuman Ji as his second son. Being the son of Vayu, he was named Maruti in childhood. Since he was the son of Vayu, he was extremely playful, intelligent and strong since childhood.
Swamiji narrated an incident from his childhood when Hanuman ji mistook the sun for a fruit because of its red colour and flew towards the sky to swallow it. At that time, Rahu was coming towards the sun due to an eclipse, which Hanuman ji tried to catch in the middle. For his protection, Rahu called out to Indra and Indra's thunderbolt struck Maruti's chin (Hanu).
Due to this, Vayu Dev got angry and stopped the influence of Vayu in the universe. In this situation, all the gods including Brahma pleased Hanuman ji and gave him many boons and powers and Indra named him Hanuman for hitting Hanu.
During the story, Swamiji beautifully described Hanuman ji's first encounter, when Lord Shri Ram tells his brother Lakshman about Hanuman that he is the knower of all the four Vedas and the best speaker.
