A unique example of valor and sacrifice: Indian Army
The glorious history of the security forces deployed on the borders reminds us of the unparalleled sacrifices of the country's brave warriors. After independence, as a result of the 1971 war, a new nation emerged on the world map - Bangladesh. In this war, the Indian armed forces achieved a decisive victory, in which 93 thousand prisoners of war of Pakistan were captured. Similarly, during the period from July 1987 to March 1990, the Indian army fought with Tamil terrorists in Sri Lanka and established peace there.

Similarly, during the period from July 1987 to March 1990, the Indian army fought with Tamil terrorists in Sri Lanka and established peace there.
On November 3, 1988, our armed forces foiled an attempt to overthrow the government there in Maldives and showed the whole world how quickly and efficiently the Indian army reacts. We are proud of our military power. In terms of bravery, sacrifice and determination, it has no equal in the world. The Kargil War, which took place between May 1999 and July 1999, saw a befitting reply to Pakistani armed infiltrators. By 3 May 1999, it was clear that Pakistani infiltrators had established themselves on Drass and its surrounding high peaks. These included regular troops of the Pakistani Army, who were trying to change the Line of Control.
Although India shares its borders with many countries, its main conflicts have been with Pakistan and China. The main reason for the Kargil War in 1999 was the occupation of India's front lines by the Pakistani Army. To drive out the infiltrators and liberate the illegal occupation, India launched Operation Vijay. Our army achieved remarkable success. Our country has been a victim of wars and conflicts since its inception.
Although the Indian Army has shown unparalleled examples of sacrifice and patriotism in every war fought after independence. But war never brings happiness. After the Kargil war, I got the opportunity to meet the families of the officers and soldiers who were martyred in it. It is a bitter truth that war never brings happiness to any country or its people or soldiers. The soldiers and officers who were martyred in the Kargil war left this world at a very young age.
I got the opportunity to visit the house of Captain Saurabh Kalia, a martyr of Palampur in this war, who sacrificed himself for the country at the age of just 22. His family has preserved everything that was with him in his last moments and has kept it in a museum in their house in memory of Captain Kalia. Captain Saurabh Kalia was the first Indian army officer to be killed in the Kargil war. He was captured by the Pakistani army while on patrol with five other soldiers and was brutally martyred after inhuman torture for 22 days. His father Dr. Narinder Kalia Ji fought for justice at the international level.
These days, after the success of "Operation Sindhur" launched by the Indian government, low-level comments of some political leaders and common people are being read and heard in the media. These have an adverse effect on the morale of the entire country.
We all know that the brave soldiers who serve the country in extremely terrible conditions ranging from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius are not posted on the borders just for salary. They have a feeling of sacrifice in their hearts for the interest of the country. We also see that in the past decades, the martyred soldiers and officers were the only sons or daughters.
Some officers have joined the army from their third generation. Despite knowing the hardships of this service to them and their families, they chose this path of service to the country. Our soldiers always stand like a rock with the countrymen during times of war or other internal dangers. Whenever there has been a natural disaster in the country or in a neighboring friendly country, our forces have reached as a last hope and given relief and life to the people.
Truly, the Indian Army is a living symbol of courage and selfless spirit which ensures our security and peace of mind by guarding the country's borders day and night. History is witness, the Indian Army has always shown unwavering commitment to discipline and duty. Let us remember the vow of Captain Vikaran Batra, martyred in the Kargil war, "Either I will return after hoisting the tricolor, or I will return wrapped in it, but I will definitely return."
