Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora Visits Mohali Hitech Metal Cluster

SAS Nagar, August 25: Punjab Minister for Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion and Power, Sh. Sanjeev Arora, today visited the Mohali Hitech Metal Cluster and reviewed its functioning.

Interacting with stakeholders, the Minister said that, as per the vision of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening the industrial ecosystem by extending all possible support. He appreciated the management of the cluster for successfully running the facility, which caters to around 80 MSME units engaged in the manufacturing of bathroom fittings.
The Minister assured that issues flagged by the management—such as release of the pending last installment of industry contribution to PSIEC, removal of the 66 KVA High Tension Tower within the premises that is hindering further expansion, and operationalization of the Mohali Skill Development Centre to provide skilled manpower—would be taken up with the concerned authorities on priority.
During the visit, Sh. Arora was apprised of the various facilities at the cluster, including the state-of-the-art testing lab, design centre, and tool room. He personally inspected the latest imported equipment installed at the centre and stressed that the government–shareholders joint venture model would be nurtured to ensure long-term benefits for the industry.
The Minister was accompanied by Principal Secretary, Industry & Commerce, Sh. K.K. Yadav; Director,Smt. Surabhi Malik; Punjab Development Commission Member, Sh. Vaibhav Maheshwari; and Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar, Smt. Komal Mittal.
