 He made it clear in the crime review meeting with police officers that timely action on complaints received through Jan Samvad, CM Window and Samadhan Camp is mandatory and a detailed report should be prepared.
He said that effective action on complaints increases the confidence of the general public on the police, so every complainant coming to the police station or outpost level should be treated civilly and the resolution of his complaint should be ensured.
The Superintendent of Police directed all the police station and outpost in-charges to settle the pending cases in the police stations quickly, ensure the arrest of the accused and increase the rate of recovery in crimes against property. He also gave instructions for monitoring and regular checking of criminals of previous years, so that the tendency of recidivism can be prevented. It was asked to give priority to quick action in cases of heinous crimes and fights.
Describing the safety of women and girl students as the top priority, he said that 'Durga Shakti' force has been deployed by identifying hotspot areas of crimes against women. The purpose of this special team is to curb incidents like molestation, stalking and to keep an eye on suspicious activities. No negligence will be tolerated on the issue of women's safety.
The Superintendent of Police asked the station in-charges to keep a strict watch on the criminal activities happening in their areas and clarified that the responsibility of any criminal incident will be of the concerned station in-charge. Administrative action was warned if negligence is found. He also directed that the history sheet of habitual criminals should be opened so that their activities can be monitored and they do not move towards crime again.
While giving instructions to run a strict campaign against drugs, he said that strict action should be taken against those who trade in narcotics and the history of drug peddlers should be identified and they should be monitored. Recovery should be ensured at all costs and investigation should be done till the last link.
