Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Education, Social Justice and Empowerment and officials of related departments were present in the meeting. During this, various aspects of drug control were discussed in detail.

Emphasis on controlling demand and supply of drugs-
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that for the prevention of drug abuse, it is very important not only to stop the supply but also to reduce the demand. For this, multi-dimensional efforts will have to be made in which public awareness and rehabilitation should be combined together.

Instructions to visit schools and colleges regularly-
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the Sub-Divisional Officers as well as police officers to visit the schools and colleges allotted to them at least twice every month. During these visits, they will make students aware about the ill effects of drugs, legal provisions of the NDPS Act and healthy lifestyle.

Instructions to increase health awareness among youth and inspect de-addiction centers-
He instructed the Health Department to run special campaigns to spread awareness on mental and physical health problems among youth. This will prevent the inclination towards drugs. Also asked to review the functioning of de-addiction and rehabilitation centers operating in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said that these centers should be inspected regularly and it should be ensured that they are working as per the prescribed standards. Apart from this, necessary steps will also be taken to improve the quality of rehabilitation services.

Instructions to check the stock of drug sellers-
The Deputy Commissioner asked to regularly check the drug sellers working in the district to ensure that no narcotic drug is being sold illegally.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal called upon the officers of all the departments present that they should not limit this fight against drug abuse to the administrative sphere only, but also motivate every section of the society, especially the youth, teachers, parents and voluntary organizations for active participation in it.
Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav said that the police department and the district administration are committed to make Una district drug-free. For this, all necessary steps will be taken strictly and any kind of negligence in this direction will not be tolerated.
