The newly elected ARD 2024 team led by Dr. Hariharan, marked International Women’s Day with a series of engaging activities for female residents. The event commenced with a thrilling throwball match, followed by a serene pottery session that saw a large number of participants.
The occasion was graced by the prestigious presence of Smt. Urvashi Gulati, IAS, former Chief Secretary of Haryana, who served as a source of inspiration for the residents. Smt. Gulati took the opportunity to interact with all the residents, sharing her success stories and motivating them towards achieving their goals. She emphasized the significance of active student leadership in shaping a better future for the country. Addressing the theme of Women’s Day, Smt. Gulati also spoke about the pivotal role of women in nation-building.
As a symbol of support for women's health, Smt. Gulati inaugurated sanitary napkin vending machines for the residents of the Postgraduate Institute (PGI). Recognizing the participation and effort of the attendees, she distributed prizes to all the participants.
During the pottery session, the residents showcased their creative talents by crafting magnificent clay vases and pots. This activity served as a relaxing and empowering experience, allowing the participants to unwind and tap into their artistic abilities.
Dr. Hariharan, the leader of the ARD 2024 team, emphasized the integral role played by the female residents at PGI. He attributed their contributions to the progress and development of the institution and the medical field as a whole. Drawing inspiration from Smt. Gulati's achievements, Dr. Hariharan encouraged the residents to continue their stellar work and serve as role models for future generations.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the ARD team. Dr. Smriti Thakur, as Vice President, Dr. Vandhana Jain, as Joint Secretary, and Dr. Vidushi, as the Lady Representative of the ARD team, managed the event flawlessly.
It is through events like these that the ARD 2024 team aims to foster inclusivity, celebrate accomplishments, and empower women within the medical community. This International Women’s Day celebration has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on all the participants and will inspire them to continue making remarkable strides in their respective fields.
