Entrepreneurship Development Programme to be run in all districts of Haryana-Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

Chandigarh, August 21 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that entrepreneurship and faculty development programmes should be run in all districts of the state to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth and encourage the creation of new enterprises.

He also directed to effectively implement entrepreneurship and faculty programmes in the districts so that the youth can take advantage of the opportunities being created under the Startup Policy.
The Chief Minister, who was chairing a meeting on incubator schemes under the Haryana State Startup Policy here, said that startups should be actively promoted to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment and motivate more and more youth to adopt innovation-based ventures.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government has set a target of increasing the participation of women in startups to 60 percent in its resolution. He also directed to achieve this target at the earliest. It was informed in the meeting that the current participation of women-run startups in Haryana is 50 percent and it will soon be increased to 60 percent.
It was also informed that Haryana is the seventh largest state in terms of startups with more than 9100 startups registered with DPIIT. Out of 117 unicorns in the country, 19 are from Haryana which shows the growing entrepreneurial power of the state. The state government has approved plans for setting up new incubation centers, the details of which will be announced soon. These centers will provide support to startups through various schemes and earlier mediums.
The meeting was informed that Haryana has developed a vibrant incubator ecosystem that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in areas like Agri-Tech, IT, IoT and manufacturing. The major activities of the incubators include product showcases, organizing bootcamps for prospective entrepreneurs, networking with leading entrepreneurs, pitching sessions for budding investors, presenting success stories and mentorship programs with experienced founders and professionals.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Rajesh Khullar, Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Agarwal and other senior officials.
