Meanwhile, the High Court has issued notices to the Central Government, Haryana and BBMB. Now the next hearing of the matter will be on May 20.

The court sought a response on the changed stand of the BBMB president
The High Court considered Punjab's review petition serious, due to which they sent a notice to the Haryana government. The court also took the BBMB by surprise and sought a response on the changed stand of the BBMB president on water distribution.
Why does Haryana need additional water?
The High Court asked during the hearing - Why does Haryana need additional water? Both BBMB and Haryana will have to give an explanation.
AAP government said that it will always fight for the rights of Punjab. AAP welcomed the court's decision and said - "A major diplomatic success of the Punjab government, judicial support for the fight for water rights... We will not let Punjab's rights be taken away, we will fight for water on every platform." He further said - "This decision will prove to be a new turning point regarding Punjab's water rights." On the other hand, an important meeting of the Bhakra Beas Management Board is going to be held, in which engineers from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan will participate. In this meeting, a strategy will be decided regarding the water to be released during the months of May and June.
