Mahilpur - In today's era, girls are not only competing with boys in every field, but are also bringing glory to their parents, family as well as their village, city and state by setting new records", these views were expressed by Hoshiarpur MP Dr. Kumar Chabbewal, who participated in the Lohri festival with the families of his parliamentary constituency.
He participated enthusiastically in the girls' Lohri and wholeheartedly appreciated these families for giving a new message to the society. He described the celebration of girls' Lohri as an inspirational step towards eliminating gender inequality and strengthening the identity of girls. He visited many villages of the district and honored the families celebrating Lohri of newborn girls and made people aware about this important issue.
Dr. Chabbewal said, "Society often considers Lohri as a festival of the birth of a boy, but now the time has come that we also accept this role. During this, he drew people's attention towards celebrating the birthdays of those girls and giving them the right to education, health and security. He said that this step will not only change the social outlook towards girls, but will also prove helpful in taking the new generation on the path of equality.
On this occasion, Dr. Raj, citing the example of Rishika Jaswal of Jandoli being selected in the New Zealand Under-19 cricket team, appealed to the people to give equal opportunities to every child and make efforts for their education and development. He said that only when the society gives equal rights to girls, we can imagine progress.
