Agoha will get a new identity on the world archaeological map.

Chandigarh, August 18 - The Haryana government is developing Agoha, which is important from a historical point of view, as a major tourist destination and cultural heritage center to give it a new identity on the world archaeological map. Under this, a modern museum will be established in Agroha where archaeological remains found during excavations will be preserved and exhibited. This museum will connect the visitors with the strong historical and cultural heritage of the area and also provide an educational and engaging experience.

Under this, a modern museum will be established in Agroha where archaeological remains found during excavations will be preserved and exhibited. This museum will connect the visitors with the strong historical and cultural heritage of the area and also provide an educational and engaging experience.
A meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini reviewed the development and progress of Agroha archaeological site. The meeting was attended by Urban Local Government Minister Shri Vipul Goyal, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, former Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta, Shri Asim Goyal, former Vidhan Sabha Chairman Shri Gian Chand Gupta were also present.
The Chief Minister said that Agoha, being the capital of Maharaja Agrasen, is a very important archaeological and cultural site. With its development, it will not only become a center of faith, but will also emerge as an international tourist destination.

Directions to prepare a master plan for Agoha development-
Shri Naib Singh Saini directed that a comprehensive master plan be prepared by the Hisar-Agoha Metropolitan Development Authority which includes a detailed strategy for developing Agoha as a tourist destination. Also, the mounds near the Agoha archaeological site should be geo-tagged and the area should be declared a protected area so that these mounds can be protected from any kind of damage.
It was informed in the meeting that excavation work is being done jointly by the Archaeological Survey of India and the Haryana State Archaeology Department in an area of about 5 crores in Agoha. Before the excavation, a Ground Penetrating Radar survey of the potential areas was conducted, on the basis of which the excavation was started. The remains found from the excavation so far indicate that in the coming time this area will give a new identity to the historical landscape of not only Haryana but also the entire India.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Town and Country Planning Department Mr. AK Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Heritage and Tourism Department Mrs. Kala Ramachandran, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Yashpal, Director of the Archaeology Department Mr. Amit Khatri and Deputy Commissioner of Hisar Mr. Anish Yadav along with other officials were present in the meeting.
