Patiala, April 25 - Under the direction of Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Jagpalinder Singh, an awareness seminar regarding World Malaria Day was conducted at Government Smart Senior Secondary School Bahadurgarh under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Gurpreet Singh Nagra at Health Center Kouli.
On this occasion, SMO Dr. Nagra said that we all should be a part of this campaign to make Punjab malaria free. He said that malaria testing and treatment is done absolutely free in all government health institutions. Block Extension Educator Sarabjit Singh said that Malaria is a serious type of fever which is spread by the bite of a mosquito called Anapheles.
In this malaria fever, first the patient should undergo laboratory test and treatment in the nearest government health center when symptoms like chills, high fever and in many cases vomiting, headache etc. appear. On this occasion LHV Poonam Walia, CH Malakpreet Kaur, multipurpose health worker Gurtej Singh, Deep Singh, ANM Ramandeep Kaur, Lakhveer Kaur and Asha workers were also present.
