Chandigarh, October 18 - BJP National Spokesperson Jayveer Shergill has said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab, the health sector and especially the rural health services in the state have come to a standstill.
In a statement issued here, Shergill expressed disappointment over the slow performance of the government in the health sector and said that the condition of rural dispensaries, which are considered the backbone of rural health services, is in a bad state. They do not even have basic medicines and due to the wrong policies of the AAP government, 564 rural dispensaries of Punjab have reached the ICU. He said that the rural health centers which provide services to 60 percent of the population of Punjab are being completely neglected.
He said that all the big claims of the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government regarding providing health facilities are mere pretenses, while the ground reality is completely different and the government has failed to meet the basic health needs of the people of the state. .
Shergill said that according to the news published in the media, most of the health centers of Punjab are in a bad condition. Even the buildings of many dispensaries are in such bad condition that they may collapse anytime.
He said that the unavailability of even basic medicines like paracetamol in rural health centers clearly shows how alarming the situation is. He said that the Chief Minister is making big claims of reforms in the health sector, but the shameful thing is that the Rural Medical Officers posted in many rural dispensaries are giving money from their own pockets to buy medicines, so that the patients face some kind of problem. do not have to face
He said that to justify himself and gain cheap fame, the Chief Minister is presenting fake data of patients visiting Aam Aadmi clinics. He said that fake OPD registrations are taking place in many Aam Aadmi clinics, the proof of which is that the Punjab Health Minister has also ordered an inquiry into the matter. He said that out of total 664 Aam Aadmi clinics, a large number of clinics are deprived of necessary infrastructure. There are many places in the state, especially in the border districts, where there is only one Aam Aadmi clinic at a distance of 35 km. While in many areas, two Aam Aadmi Clinics have been constructed at a distance of just 1 km.
