Patiala, April 18 - Shiromani Akali Dal candidate from Patiala Lok Sabha constituency NK Sharma has said that the candidates fielded by Congress and BJP have no character. Today, the situation has become such that only the workers of their parties are holding meetings to teach these defectors a lesson.
NK Sharma was addressing workers and local residents in Sutrana, Samana and Nabha today during his election campaign. He said that Praneet Kaur was Congress MP for four times. Her husband Captain Amarinder Singh was made the Chief Minister twice by the Congress Party, but when the condition of the Congress deteriorated, both husband and wife joined the BJP. Praneet Kaur is still contesting the election without resigning from the post of Congress MP. If the Congress issues the party whip today, Praneet Kaur will have to stand with the Congress.
He said that while being a Member of Parliament, Praneet Kaur never made arrangements to protect the areas adjacent to the Ghaggar River in Patiala Lok Sabha constituency from floods. Describing the Congress candidate as greedy for power, Sharma said that Dharamvir Gandhi became a Member of Parliament from the Aam Aadmi Party, but there was no Dal Gali and he contested the election independently. When the people refused, they took the Congress's side.
Taking a dig at AAP candidate Balbir Singh, he said that Prachar's government could not find a candidate in 13 constituencies of Punjab in three years. 9 out of 13 MLAs have been fielded. The women of Punjab are still waiting for Rs 1,000 monthly allowance. Instead of working, the 'AAP' government has spent Rs 750 crore only on publicity. NK Sharma said that he was inducted into the Akali Dal by Panth Ratan Gurcharan Singh Tohra in the year 1992 and has remained in the Akali Dal till date. They never defected. The Akali Dal government has always developed the entire state equally. Sharma invited the voters of Patiala Lok Sabha Constituency to cast their votes only by looking at work and character. On this occasion, apart from former cabinet minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, Akali leaders Sukhwinder Singh Rajla, Amarjit Todarpur, Balwinder Danipur, Baldev Rajla, Jagrup Fatehpur, Nachhatar Singh, Inderjit Rakhra, Mahinder Singh Lalwa, Jagmeet Singh Hariao, former president Joga Singh Patar, Gobind Singh Many dignitaries including Virdi, Gurbachan Singh, Gurdeep Singh were present.
