
Irrigation system in Haryana will be strengthened, mines will be rebuilt with Rs 315 crore.
Chandigarh, September 2 - The Haryana government has taken a big step to make the irrigation system in the state more strong and efficient. In an important meeting of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the comprehensive remodeling (reconstruction and improvement) action plan of mines in the state has been approved. Under this, about 54 different projects will be implemented and the entire project will cost about Rs 315 crore.
Chandigarh, September 2 - The Haryana government has taken a big step to make the irrigation system in the state more strong and efficient. In an important meeting of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the comprehensive remodeling (reconstruction and improvement) action plan of mines in the state has been approved. Under this, about 54 different projects will be implemented and the entire project will cost about Rs 315 crore.
The Chief Minister said that under this important plan, the canals will be deepened, widened and the structure will be strengthened with modern technology so that the supply of irrigation water can reach the farmers on time and in a timely manner. Under this entire project, rehabilitation of 30 canals and remodeling of 24 canals will be done under different canal circles.
He said that this will provide water for irrigation to the farmers' crops, reduce pressure on the groundwater level and increase the agricultural production capacity in the state. The problem of waterlogging in rural areas will be overcome.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete all the works in a timely manner with high quality. He gave clear instructions that there should be no irregularities in the quality of construction materials and the level of miners.
About 54 projects will be implemented under Yamuna Water Service, Loharu Water Service and Jawaharlal Nehru Circle
It was informed in the meeting that work will be done on 41 projects under Yamuna Water Service Circle, Bhiwani, 1 project under Yamuna Water Service Circle, Karnal and 2 projects under Yamuna Water Service Circle, Rohtak. Similarly, 7 projects have been included under Loharu Water Service Circle Bhiwani and 3 projects under Jawaharlal Nehru Circle Rewari. These works will be implemented with the help of NABARD.
Under these projects, strengthening and raising of the banks of the mines, repair and rehabilitation of lining, laying of pipeline, repair of head regulator, siphon, culvert and outlet etc. will be done which will eliminate leakage and also save water and ensure water supply to the expected areas.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Commissioner and Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Mr. Muhammad Shine, Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department Mr. Rajinikanthan, Engineer-in-Chief of Irrigation and Water Resources Department Mr. Satbir Kadian and other officials were present in the meeting.
