People will get clean drinking water in all cities of Punjab - Dr. Ravjot Singh.

Rajpura, May 26- Punjab Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Dr. Ravjot Singh, today laid the foundation stone of Rs 33.66 crore pipeline water supply project under AMRUT-2 scheme at Purana Rajpura to ensure clean drinking water supply to the residents of Rajpura constituency. Rajpura MLA Neena Mittal was specially present on the occasion.

Rajpura, May 26- Punjab Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Dr. Ravjot Singh, today laid the foundation stone of Rs 33.66 crore pipeline water supply project under AMRUT-2 scheme at Purana Rajpura to ensure clean drinking water supply to the residents of Rajpura constituency. Rajpura MLA Neena Mittal was specially present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the Punjab government is moving ahead to provide clean water to its people on a daily basis. He said that the launch of this pipeline water supply project will fulfill the decades-old demand of the residents. He further informed that on the request of MLA Neena Mittal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann immediately approved the pipeline water supply project of Rs 33.66 crore under AMRUT-2. He elaborated that under this project, 57.30 km new pipeline will be laid in Old Rajpura and Rajpura Town, which will benefit around 10,000 households and a population of 50,000 with clean water.
On the occasion, MLA Neena Mittal said that for the last fifty years, previous governments did not fulfill their responsibility of providing clean water, but the present government has given this important gift to the residents of Rajpura. She mentioned that due to poor policies of previous governments, Rajpura, known as the “Gateway of Punjab”, is facing many challenges, but now the government is solving the basic problems of the people.
He informed that mixing of pollutants in drinking water is a serious problem in Rajpura due to which residents of areas of Old Rajpura like Bharat Colony, Dharampura Colony, Chhajjumajri, Garg Colony, Navyug Colony, Rozan Colony, Amar Chand Colony, Thakur Puri, Jattan Wala Mohalla, Gujjaran Wala Mohalla and in Rajpura Town like Dalmia Vihar, Kanika Garden, Shyam Nagar, Mahinderganj, Mirch Mandi, Guru Nanak Colony and other adjoining areas have been facing difficulties. He said that replacement of water supply lines and domestic connections in these areas has been proposed in this project.
