
The District Election Officer visited the polling booths
Nawanshahr, - Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjotpal Singh Randhawa regarding the polling booths to be constructed for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 Doaba Sikh National School Nawanshahr, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Nawanshahr, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Langroa and Government Middle Visited Smart School Pannu Majara. SDM Dr. Akshita Gupta, district officers of various departments were present with him on this occasion.
Nawanshahr, - Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjotpal Singh Randhawa regarding the polling booths to be constructed for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 Doaba Sikh National School Nawanshahr, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Nawanshahr, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Langroa and Government Middle Visited Smart School Pannu Majara. SDM Dr. Akshita Gupta, district officers of various departments were present with him on this occasion.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer discussed the security and arrangements of the polling booths. He said that more than 80 percent of the prepared polling booths have been visited and the basic facilities available at the polling booths have been reviewed. He said that all arrangements regarding light, fans, security etc. at the polling booths have been discussed.
After this, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjotpal Singh Randhawa visited the District Election Office and took stock of the work being done regarding the elections and encouraged the officers and employees to perform their duties honestly and diligently. They also visited the complaint cell 1950 and got information from the officer on duty. He said that the complaint cell 1950 is running 24 hours at the district level, any citizen can get any information regarding the votes. Along with this, the Election Commissioner has launched the C-Visual App to receive any complaint related to the elections. During the elections, if there is any violation of the Model Code of Conduct anywhere in the district, you can file a complaint through the C-Visal App. It is disposed of by reaching the spot itself through the flying squad team operating in the district.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjotpal Singh Randhawa visited the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee. On this occasion, Nodal Officer-cum-DPRO of MCMC Arun Chaudhary informed the District Election Officer about the working of Media Monitoring and Certification Committee. He said that besides approving the content of candidates' advertisements, the committee is also closely monitoring their social media accounts.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa also told that to stop the trend of paid news by MCMC, newspapers and different TV channels are being read through special teams. He said that the report sent to the Chief Electoral Officer Chandigarh regarding MCMC is being sent on time. The employees posted in print, electronic and social media have been specifically instructed to monitor the news published in all the newspapers on a daily basis, if any news appears to be possible paid news by the constituted MCMC committee. If so, take action in this regard on a daily basis and bring it to the notice of the concerned Assistant Returning Officers. He said that similarly, newspapers and advertisements appearing in electronic media are also being monitored. Employees posted in social media have also been instructed to monitor social media posts and other activities.
