Prof. Surinder Singh, who came from the Department of History of Panjab University, Chandigarh, spoke about medieval Punjab with reference to Damodar Di Heer.

Prof. Surinder Singh, who came from the Department of History of Panjab University, Chandigarh, spoke about medieval Punjab with reference to Damodar Di Heer.
In his speech, he spoke in detail about the caste dynamics, gender roles and various aspects of social alliances of medieval Punjab with reference to this text. Talking about the greatness of this text in his speech, he said that it is not just a love story but an authentic document to understand the different layers of Punjab of that era in detail.
This text can be read to know the mutual cooperation and conflict between the agricultural society and different castes and tribes. Head of the department Dr. Jyoti Puri shed light on the personality of the speaker during the welcome speech. Dr. Monica Sabharwal, the coordinator of this program, moderated the stage and talked about the personality of Dr. BR Rao. Dr. Dharamjit Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
