Mohali, July 25- An emergency meeting was held today by the landowners of several villages (Sector 87 Mohali) regarding some doubts and some legitimate demands regarding the Punjab government's land pooling scheme. After much deliberation, a demand letter was prepared and a detailed demand letter was submitted to CA Gmada and MLA Kulwant Singh.
Among the landowners, Paramjit Singh Kumbha, Harvinder Singh Numberdar, Harmanjot Singh Baidwan, Hardeep Singh Uppal, Gurpreet Singh Nanomajra, Narinder Singh, Ajmer Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Davinder Singh Gill etc. said that about 13 demands have been recorded in this demand letter prepared after full consultation. The Punjab government and the top officials of GMADA have been requested to inform that recently it has been learnt through the media that land owners of villages like Sohana, Nanumajra, Manakmajra etc. have been invited to give their land for the development of Sector 87 Mohali. Before taking any final decision in this regard, the complaints of the land owners should be considered.
He said that the benefits of the land pooling scheme being taken for Sector 87 should be given in Sector 87 itself instead of giving it to any other sector as before.
While giving the benefits of the land pooling scheme to the land owners, the share determined should be equal to that of the land owners of other villages, whose land is being acquired for the development of the remaining blocks of Atropolis.
In Sector 87, which is being developed as a commercial area, the land owners should be allowed to use the basement under the corridor as part of their basement because in other sectors the government has banned the use of the basement under the corridor as part of the basement.
A copy of the sector plan for Sector 87 should also be provided to the people so that we can also know what development plan the government has made in our land.
Apart from this, plots should be allotted to the landowners at preferred locations and all the plots in the sector should be put in the draw of lots at the time of participation of farmers/landowners.
It should also be made clear in writing that no preferential location (PLC) charges will be charged from the landowners/subsequent buyers.
Landowners or subsequent buyers should be given 5 years to construct on commercial plots, arrangements should be made for issuing Letter of Intent (LOI), the share of landowners in the 'incorporated land' should also be pooled and benefits should be given to the landowners after pooling the shares, the limit of "Facility Certificate" should be increased from 3 years to 5 years.
Apart from this, many other demands have also been included in the petition.
