Garshankar, June 11 - Renowned social worker and senior citizen Bhupinder Singh, through a statement issued, has demanded from the Punjab government that some important decisions should be taken immediately keeping the convenience of patients in the government hospitals.
Bhupinder Singh has demanded that the practice of making patients stand in OPD in government hospitals should be completely stopped. And it should be ensured that under no circumstances should the patient have to stand in queues outside the doctor's room or wait for the doctor inside the hospital. He said that the physical condition of the patient is already bad and he has to stand in line for a long time for his medicine or check up from the doctor.
He said that to correct this system in government hospitals, token system should be started and it should be made mandatory for the hospital management to make adequate arrangements for each patient to sit.
He said that the window from which medicine is given to patients in hospitals is so small That the patient can neither tell his story to the medicine giver nor what he tells him will be understood by him.
