Giving information in this regard, DSP City 2 S. Harsimran Singh Bal said that these persons were arrested by the police team of the IT City police station as part of the campaign against anti-social elements as per the directions of the district SSP Mr. Sandeep Garg. The arrest has been made under the leadership of Officer Inspector Amandeep Thata.
He said that in this regard, a person named Mr. Sudish had written a report that on March 9, he had stopped to call someone at village Safipur Pul Slip Road near the airport and in the meantime, two young men who had come in an Activa, had stolen his Activa. Before his Activa seemed to surround him. Meanwhile, one person grabbed the mobile phone held in his hand and the other took out his 400 rupees from the back pocket of his pant and ran away from the spot.
He said that on the statement of the complainant, an investigation was started by registering a case under section 379 B and 34 of the IPC at the IT City police station and Vikramjit and Dharamveer Singh (both residents of village Nadyali, district Mohali) were arrested. . He said that the police presented both of them in the honorable court and obtained police remand and the mobile phone of the victim, Rs.400 and the Activa used during the robbery were recovered from them. He said that after the end of the remand, the honorable court had ordered to send both of them in judicial custody for 14 days, on which both of them have been sent to Ropar Jail.
