Victims of 1984 riots deprived of compensation facility can approach RRA branch of Deputy Commissioner's office 'with documents and evidence' - Deputy Commissioner

Nawan Shahr 02 February 2024 - Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that the public notice issued by the Delhi government regarding additional compensation to the victims of the 1984 riots has been ordered to take action to bring to the attention of the affected families living in the district.

Nawan Shahr 02 February 2024 - Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that the public notice issued by the Delhi government regarding additional compensation to the victims of the 1984 riots has been ordered to take action to bring to the attention of the affected families living in the district. 
He said that Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman of National Association of Persons with Disabilities (Government of India), was approached by the affected families during his visit to Ludhiana last month. The families of the victims brought to their attention through a petition that despite the orders of the Central Government and the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the victims have not yet received full compensation.
After this, by issuing a letter, orders were issued by the Department of Property Rehabilitation and Disaster Management of Punjab to give information regarding additional compensation to the victims. He said that if any 1984 riot victim family is deprived of the compensation facility given by the government, they should submit their necessary documents and proofs within 10 days at RRA Branch Room No. 107 Ground Floor at Office Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. can make a written application.
