
Provision of Rs 300 crore budget made for improvement in education: CM
Una, January 28, 2024 - Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today presided over the 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' program at Ladoli under Chintpurni assembly constituency of Una district and heard the problems of the people. During the programme, 62 public complaints were received and 24 different types of certificates were made, while 13 Intkals were also verified.
Una, January 28, 2024 - Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today presided over the 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' program at Ladoli under Chintpurni assembly constituency of Una district and heard the problems of the people. During the programme, 62 public complaints were received and 24 different types of certificates were made, while 13 deaths were also verified.
During the program, the Chief Minister announced two-day Chintpurni Mahotsav in Amb, construction of Mini Secretariat in Amb, providing Rs. 10 crore for Swachh Sanitation, opening of Primary Health Center in Panjoa and construction of indoor stadium. He said that employment-oriented courses will be started in Naiharian ITI so that the youth can get better employment opportunities. He announced to provide Rs 3 crore to start science classes in Government Senior Secondary School, Saloi and Diara and to repair 50 old tube wells in the area.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government is making necessary reforms in the education system to provide qualitative education to the children. He said that the state government is spending Rs 300 crore to improve education, under which Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools are being opened in every assembly constituency of the state, so that the students studying here can get proper development. He said that land is being selected to open a school in Chintpurni assembly constituency and the construction work of the school will be started within a year. Apart from this, from the next academic session, the English medium curriculum is being started in government schools from the first class and only a six year old child will go to the first class so that he does not feel stressed.
He said that the state government is making many reforms in the health sector. He said that the state government is going to start a health information management system in 56 health institutions of the state, through which doctors will be able to have complete medical details of patients through a cloud based server. With the introduction of this facility, the patient will not need to take the slip and report to the doctor. He said that the state government is going to bring robotic surgery and modern medical technology in the state, the results of which will be visible in the coming two years.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that when the present government was formed a year ago, the economic condition of the state was not good, for which the former BJP government was responsible. He said that we spend only 17 percent of the state budget on development works, while 83 percent of the budget is spent on other works. He said that Rs 16 thousand crore is spent on providing salaries to government employees and Rs 10 thousand crore is spent on providing pension, whereas the state budget is Rs 54 thousand crore. He said that the state government has started efforts to strengthen the economy of the state and this has been given the slogan of system change, which will yield positive results in the times to come. He said that the state government with its strong will is implementing corrective measures in various sectors in which the government is getting success.
He said that in the very first cabinet, the old pension scheme has been implemented by the government by securing the old age of 1.36 government employees. He said that Rs 9000 crore of NPS of the state is lying with the Central Government, the matter of which has been taken up with the Centre. He said that in the last rainy season, Himachal Pradesh faced the biggest disaster in its history, in which 16 thousand houses were damaged. He said that he is aware of the pain of the people, hence despite the financial constraints and by changing the rules, a special disaster relief package of Rs 4500 crore has been given to the affected people. He said that the compensation given for a completely damaged house of Rs 1.30 lakh has been increased by five and a half times to Rs 7 lakh by the present state government. Even if there is partial damage to the house, the compensation amount has been increased to Rs 1 lakh. He said that the disaster was discussed for three days during the assembly session but the BJP MLAs did not support the proposal to declare Himachal Pradesh disaster as a national disaster and they only played politics. He said that no BJP MP has asked for help from the Central Government to deal with the disaster in Himachal. Not only this, the state government has sent disaster claims worth Rs 10,000 crore to the central government in the month of September, but BJP leaders are creating obstacles in this too, for which the public will not forgive the BJP leaders.
He said that there is a section of the society which cannot raise its voice. For their welfare, the present state government has made a law under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana and has adopted 4000 orphan children of the state as Children of the State. Under this scheme, orphan children up to 18 years of age are being given Rs 2500 per month and children up to 27 years of age are being given Rs 4 thousand as pocket money. Apart from this, the state government will also bear the expenses of their higher education. He said that today he is happy to talk to such a beneficiary girl. He said that the state government has started Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Vidyarthi Loan Scheme, under which loans up to Rs 20 lakh are being provided to students at one percent interest for pursuing higher education.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is organizing Revenue Lok Adalats in the last two days of the month, in which so far more than 65000 Itkaal and more than 4000 Takseem cases have been settled. He said that the state government is recruiting for more than 21 thousand posts in various government departments. 5291 posts of teachers in Education Department, 1226 posts of constables in Police Department and 10 thousand posts of various categories in Jal Shakti Department will be filled. Along with this, 2061 Van Mitras are being recruited under the Van Mitra Scheme and 1450 posts will be filled in the Health Department. Similarly, 874 posts of Patwaris are being filled. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government is determined to increase the income of farmers, for which the government has increased the price of purchasing milk from farmers by Rs 6 and work will be done to ensure fixed income to the cattle farmers in the coming times. MLA Sudarshan Bablu said that Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has come from a common family and reached the post of Chief Minister. He said that the present government has inherited a loan of Rs 75 thousand crore from the previous government. Just as the Chief Minister was bringing the economy back on track, disaster struck Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister directed all the Congress MLAs to remain in the field during the disaster and he himself remained on the frontline, due to which all essential services like electricity, drinking water and road facilities were restored in record time. He said that despite not getting any help from the Centre, the state government provided every possible help to provide relief to the affected families. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing compensation amount to 150 houses which were damaged in Chintpurni assembly constituency during the disaster. He thanked the Chief Minister for all the foundation stones and inaugurations done for Chintpurni assembly constituency.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also visited the developmental exhibitions of various departments.
Earlier, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs 33.21 crore in Chintpurni Assembly constituency of Una district. He laid the foundation stone of Jwar-Nari via Billan Da road to be built at a cost of Rs 12.81 crore and drinking water project for Amb town to be built at a cost of Rs 10.90 crore and inaugurated the ITI building at Nahariyan built at a cost of Rs 8.47 crore.
On this occasion, MLAs Chaitanya Sharma and Devendra Bhutto, former minister Kuldeep Kumar, Advocate General Anup Ratan, former MLA Satpal Raizada, District Una Congress President Ranjit Singh Rana, HPCC General Secretary Vikram Sharma, Secretary Sanjeev Kalia, former MLA Naveen Dhiman, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma, Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen Thakur and other dignitaries were present.
