
Organizations of the United Kisan Morcha staged a sit-in in front of the office of Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh
Hoshiarpur- As per the program given by the United Kisan Morcha, a large number of organizations of the United Kisan Morcha staged a sit-in in front of the office of Cabinet Minister Punjab Dr. Ravjot Singh. They were led by Pavitra Singh Dhugga, Satpal Singh Dadiana from BKU (Qadian), Davinder Singh Kakko from Jamhoori Kisan Sabha Punjab, Comrade Gurmesh Singh from Kul Hind Kisan Sabha, Master Shingara Singh Makimpur and Rajinder Singh Azad from BKU (Ekta Ugrahan).

The farmers demanded that the central government withdraw the draft of the National Agricultural Marketing Policy, the Punjab government should talk to the governments of other states and create an environment for withdrawing the draft of the National Agricultural Marketing Policy, eviction of evicted farmers should be stopped, compensation should be given as per the law of 2013 on land acquisition for Bharat Mala and other projects and eviction allowance should also be given.
It was also demanded that instead of wheat and paddy, MSP should be given to Basmati, maize, moong, peas, potato and cabbage crops so that the water of Punjab can be saved. The farmers demanded that the families of the farmer laborers martyred in the Delhi Kisan Andolan should be given compensation and a job to one member of the family, the demands accepted by the Chief Minister of Punjab on 19 December 2023 should be implemented, the outstanding dues of sugarcane farmers should be paid, the Punjab government should give its share, the National Education Policy 2020 should be canceled, the installation of chip meters should be stopped and many other demands were raised. At this time, Manjit Singh Bajwa, Pradyuman Singh, Omkar Singh Kakkon, Jagtar Singh, Tirath Singh Lambardar, Tarlochan Singh Sator and Satpal Singh Chabbewal, Dhanpat, Balwinder Singh, Joginder Lal Bhatti, BKU were present from the Democratic Kisan Sabha. Jaswant Singh Lambra, Jasvir Singh Chakowal, Pyara Singh Luda, Rajinder Pal Singh Kotla, Rajinder Singh Happy, Tarlok Singh Mani, Gurwinder Singh Block-1, Paramjit Singh Block Bhunga, Sarnagar Singh Advisor and other comrades were present from Ekta Ugraha.
The speakers strongly condemned the undemocratic methods used by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to prevent the Chandigarh dharna on March 5, including arresting farmer leaders and deploying police force to stop the farmers.
They strongly demanded from Aam Aadmi Party Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh that the Chief Minister of Punjab should create an atmosphere of dialogue instead of confrontation with the farmers and people of Punjab and sit with the leaders of SKM to resolve the farmer-laborer issues immediately. In the end, comrade Paramjit Singh Kalkat thanked the comrades for coming.
