Babandeep Singh Walia, Joint Commissioner of Patiala Municipal Corporation, is giving information That this campaign mainly has 3 objectives, first is to ban the use of single use plastic in religious and other places. Second, preparing compost from wet waste within the institution itself And thirdly, plastic waste lying in the open near these institutions should be collected together with the institution and stored at the MRF. On this occasion, he appealed to the city residents that the use of single use plastic is very dangerous for health and environment So stop using it and keep your surroundings clean. Apart from this, steel utensils should be used instead of using any single use plastic such as plastic cups, plates, glasses on the occasion of langar.
It is worth mentioning that Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib has made an effort to prepare compost from vegetable and fruit peels and leaves etc. Patiala Municipal Corporation appealed to the social organizations working in different areas in the city to be a part of this campaign.
