Regarding this, Harinder Kaur, District Education Officer, Secondary Education, Patiala, said that National School Games 2023-24 is being organized in Patiala under the guidance of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. On the fourth day, pre-quarter final matches of basketball boys under 19 were played. Meanwhile, prominent personalities and administrative officials of the city and area encouraged the players. SP Chand Singh told the sportspersons about the importance of sports for getting jobs as well as healthy and happy life.
Deputy DEO Ravinderpal Singh informed that the teams who arrived to participate in the tournament were given a tour of the important places of Patiala city by the District Administration, Education Department Punjab and District Education Officer Patiala. In which the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose National Institute of Sports (NIS) teams showed great interest. Vaneet Kumar Executive Director and Manga Singh Librarian briefed the players about NIS. Many sportspersons of the country have been trained in this prestigious institution of the country and have made the name of India shine at the international level. Kuber Das, Manager Tamil Nadu, said that he had a great time visiting NIS Patiala for the first time. On this occasion Gurpreet Singh Namdhari National Awardee Teacher, Principal Rajnish Gupta, Rajinder Singh Chani, Amarjot Singh, Jasveer Singh Coach, Irwin Kaur, Principal Vikramjit Singh, Principal Jaspal Singh, Gurpreet Singh Senior Assistant, Jagjit Singh Walia, Amarinder Singh Baba, Lalit Modgil , Rajeev Kumar and others were present.

Punjab defeated Kerala by 112-54 points.
Apart from this, IBSO beat Madhya Pradesh by 106-76 points.
Delhi defeated Karnataka by 73-53 points.
Haryana defeated CISCE by 92-74 points.
Rajasthan defeated Odisha by 81-43 points.
Tamil Nadu beat Navodaya Vidyalaya by 58-28.
Jharkhand beat Gujarat with 71-47 points and
Chandigarh defeated Maharashtra by 77-57 points.
