In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Una informed that under the Sponsorship and Foster Care Scheme, 193 children have been given the benefit of the scheme in Una district till 31 December 2023 and Rs 44 lakh 88 thousand have been spent on this scheme from 1 April 2023 to 30 September 2023. Have been done.
He informed that at present an assistance amount of Rs 4500 is being provided to each child per month under the Sukh Ashray Yojana to 193 children in Una district. In the meeting, approval was given to delete the names of 7 children who have completed 18 years of age from the beneficiary list, while approval was also given to include 3 new orphan children in the beneficiary list.
Deputy Commissioner informed that under the Sponsorship Foster Care Scheme, children of widowed, divorced and abandoned women, orphan children living in extended families, children of parents suffering from serious and incurable diseases, children of financially and physically handicapped parents. Apart from the children who are beneficiaries of PM Care Scheme, the benefit of this scheme can also be given to the affected people of natural disaster, child labourers, HIV AIDS affected children and disabled children. He told that to get the benefit of the scheme, a person will have to apply in the District Child Protection Officer office.
Deputy Commissioner Una said that under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana-2023, 227 orphan children have been identified in Una district, out of which 58 applications have been received for financial assistance, out of these, 13 cases have been approved and Rs. 7 lakh 78 lakhs have been given on this. Thousand 784 rupees have been spent. Apart from this, eight social security cases related to Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana have also been approved to which Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand have been released. He said that under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, such orphan children who do not have a house to live in and are landless, will not only be provided 3 Biswa land by the state government to build a house but will also be provided financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to build a house. Will also be given. Apart from this, if the orphan children become marriageable, they will be provided a grant amount of Rs 2 lakh by the government for their marriage.
In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion about the schemes and programs being run for the welfare of orphan children under Sukh Ashray Yojana. The work and efforts being made in this direction by the District Child Protection Committee were also discussed in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Una directed the officials of the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee to prepare a detailed report regarding the plan for the needs of all the identified orphan children so that as many eligible orphan children as possible can be benefited. He instructed the committee to continuously inspect the cases related to child labour, child beggary and ensure that immediate action is taken in this regard. He said that the committee should also continuously check the arrangements related to children in Prema Ashram Una and Observation Home and Special Home Samur Kalan.
