According to the latest situation, the Liberals have won 165 seats, the Conservatives 147, the Bloc Quebecois 23, the NDP 7 and the Green Party 1 seat. Any party needed 172 seats to form a government with a clear majority. The Liberal Party may have missed the clear majority mark by 7 seats, but as the largest party, Mark Carney will be the first to be invited to form a government as per the rules. However, the Liberals will need support from another party to secure a majority in order to pass any bill in Parliament.
