In compliance of directions of the High Court in CWP 17976 of 2018, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner on 7th June 2024, with representatives of concerned departments including MC, Forest, CHB, Estate Office, Land Acquisition and Engineering Department regarding removal of illegal religious structures.??
In compliance of directions of the High Court in CWP 17976 of 2018, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner on 7th June 2024, with representatives of concerned departments including MC, Forest, CHB, Estate Office, Land Acquisition and Engineering Department regarding removal of illegal religious structures.??It was communicated that an Action Plan be set in place for ensuring removal of the illegal religious structures. It was directed to all concerned to undertake assessment and prepare a 6 month plan for removing illegal religious structures under their jurisdiction. A total of 163 structures have been identified by all. It was also noted that Notice be served to all before undertaking the demolition and necessary coordination be taken up with SDM and DSP of the area to ensure maintenance of law and order. Continuous monitoring of this will be reviewed at the level of the Deputy Commissioner.
