Patiala, December 5 - According to the guidelines of the Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Jaswant Singh and Chief Agriculture Officer Patiala Dr. Soil Health Day was celebrated in all the blocks of district Patiala under the leadership of Gurnam Singh.
   Giving information in this regard, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurnam Singh said that Soil Health Day is celebrated on December 5 every year. This year, the Soil Health Day was celebrated by organizing a special camp in Dhakrabba village of Patiala block, Harigarh village of Nabha block, Niamatpura village of Rajpura block and Sarkra farm of Bhunarheri block.
   On this occasion, farmers were made aware about the importance of soil testing and soil health cards were also distributed to the farmers. Dr. Amandeep Kaur ADO Bhau Parakh Patiala gave information about the method of taking samples for conducting soil and water tests and appealed to the farmers to conduct maximum soil and water sample tests. In these camps, the experts of the Department of Agriculture Dr. Neetu Rani ADO Rajpura, Dr. Garima ADO Nabha, Dr. Vimalpreet Singh ADO Bhunarheri, Dr. Ajaipal Singh ADO Patiala and Dr. Ravinderpal Singh Chatha AEO Farmers were inspired by Patiala. In these camps, progressive farmers shared their experiences with the department regarding proper use of fertilizers according to soil health and reducing unnecessary expenses.
