District Red Cross Society distributed blankets to visually impaired children

Hoshiarpur- Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, District Red Cross Society is working as a messiah for special children, flood affected people, needy women and destitute people. Secretary of the Society Mangesh Sood said that keeping in mind the cold weather, warm blankets were distributed to 35 blind children during a function organized at 108 Sant Narayan Das Ji Blind School, Bahowal (Mahilpur), Hoshiarpur.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner and President of Red Cross Society Komal Mittal encouraged the children and wished them a bright future. Appreciating the efforts of the Red Cross Society, the Deputy Commissioner said that every possible effort will be made to help the weaker sections of the society.
He also appealed to other people of the society to contribute in such noble works. Secretary Red Cross Society said that this school located in Bahowal (Mahilpur) has been supported by the Red Cross Society earlier also. Earlier, the school was given a machine to make disposable glasses and plates so that visually impaired children could get employment opportunities. Now keeping in mind their needs in the cold season, blankets have been distributed.
During the program, it was told that the fifth cricket tournament is being organized in the school, in which visually impaired children from different districts are participating. This tournament is being organized with the aim of increasing confidence and sportsmanship in children.
