New Delhi (Paigam-e-Jagat)- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given a big gift to 5 thousand employees of Delhi Municipal Corporation before Diwali. Kejriwal said on Wednesday that his government has fulfilled its promise to appoint 5 thousand sanitation workers. Kejriwal said while talking to reporters that the Aam Aadmi Party government has confirmed 5 thousand employees of the corporation. These employees have been demanding to secure their jobs for a long time, but the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was in government for 15 years, never took their demands seriously. So far we have appointed 6484 crude sanitation workers.
He said that in the meeting of the Delhi Municipal Corporation House on Tuesday, by passing the proposal, the appointment of around 5 thousand cleaning workers has been approved. The employment of raw workers is unknown. If they are being called today and taken to work, they cannot be called tomorrow. It is not known whether 15 days of work will be taken or 20 days of work will be taken in a month. Even their holidays are not known. Raw workers do not even get full wages. Until now, raw workers were being exploited in many ways.
The Chief Minister said that there was a BJP government in Delhi Municipal Corporation for the last 15 years. The BJP had left no stone unturned in exploiting the sanitation workers. It has always been the demand of the sanitation workers that they should be confirmed. It has been only one and a half years since Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab. Within these one and a half years, we have confirmed about 30 thousand raw workers. This shows the commitment of Aam Aadmi Party. He said that ever since the AAP government has been formed in the Delhi Municipal Corporation, good news is coming from the Municipal Corporation. Before our government, there were reports of corruption and non-payment of salaries from the Municipal Corporation. When there was a BJP government in the corporation, there was a lot of corruption.
Apart from this, there were reports of employees not getting salary for three months each. The sanitation workers were seen protesting and striking on the streets for their salary demands. We have controlled many wrong things and from the last three-four months all the employees have started getting their salaries on time.
