1658 crores have been paid to the farmers so far
Patiala, October 31 - Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sahni said that 8 lakh 24 thousand 500 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district till yesterday and 8 lakh 18 thousand 867 metric tons of paddy has been purchased so far. .
He said that 351474 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from Pangrain, 202448 metric tons from Markfed, 157182 metric tons from Pansap and 107613 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation. While 150 metric tons of paddy has been purchased by the participants. He said that 1658.43 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers out of the purchased paddy till now.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, taking stock of the ongoing procurement in the district, instructed the officials that the farmers bringing the crops to the markets should not face any kind of problem. He said that the farmers should also be made aware about the WhatsApp chat bot number 73800-16070 to get information about the machinery for stubble management, so that the farmers can get information about the machinery available near them and use it.
