Procurement of Kharif pulses and oilseeds begins in over 100 mandis in Haryana.

Chandigarh, September 24 - Haryana Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi today reviewed the preparations and production of procurement of Kharif pulses and oilseeds for the marketing season 2025-26. The state government has fixed the procurement schedule in over 100 mandis and the crop-wise mandis have been identified.

The state government has fixed the procurement schedule in over 100 mandis and the crop-wise mandis have been identified.
As per the schedule, moong will be procured in 38 mandis from September 23 to November 15. Procurement of urad will be done in 22 mandis in December and urad in 10 mandis. Procurement of groundnut will be done in 7 mandis from November 1 to December 31 while procurement of sesame seeds will be done in 27 mandis in December. Procurement of soybean and ramtil or black sesame will be done in 7 and 2 mandis in October-November.
During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the officers that farmers should not face any problem in the procurement process. He stressed on timely procurement and said that availability of high storage facilities and sacks should be ensured in the mandis.
Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal said that the area of ??moong has increased from 1.09 lakh acres in 2024-25 to 1.47 lakh acres in 2025-26. The production has also increased from 300 kg per acre to 400 kg per acre.
As a result, the production of moong is estimated to increase from 32,715 metric tons to 58,717 metric tons. There has also been an improvement in both area and production in Arhar and Urad. At the same time, sesame cultivation has increased from 800 acres to 2,116 acres and production is expected to reach about 446 metric tons.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Cooperation Department Mr. Vijender Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Mr. D. Suresh, Director of Agriculture Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik and senior officers.
