714.50 metric tonnes of paddy arrived in the district's mandis; 524.50 metric tonnes were purchased.

SAS Nagar, September 21: Deputy Commissioner Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mrs. Komal Mittal, while giving information, said that till September 20, 714.50 metric tonnes of paddy have been registered in the 15 procurement centres notified by the Mandi Board in the district, out of which 524.50 metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased by various procurement agencies.

She said that the payment for the purchased paddy is being made directly to the farmers' accounts through an online, Aadhaar-based face authentication system immediately. She said that as per the instructions of the Punjab Government, the district administration is committed to ensure the purchase of every grain.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the farmers to bring only dry paddy to the markets so that the bidding of the crop can be done on time and the farmers can get the full price of their crop without any delay. The Deputy Commissioner has also appealed to all the arhtiyas of the district to fully inform every farmer coming on their arhtiya to bring only dry paddy to the markets.
