CP Radhakrishnan takes oath as the 15th Vice President of India.

New Delhi- CP Radhakrishnan took oath as the 15th Vice President of India on Friday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to 67-year-old Radhakrishnan during a brief ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. Radhakrishnan, seen in a red kurta, took the oath in the name of God in English.

Radhakrishnan defeated B. Sudarshan Reddy, the joint candidate of the 'India' alliance, by 152 votes in the Vice Presidential election held on Tuesday.
Jagdeep Dhankhar had to be elected as the Vice President after he suddenly resigned on July 21 citing health reasons.
Dhankhar also attended the oath-taking ceremony. This is Dhankhar's first public appearance since resigning from the post of Vice President. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda were also present on the occasion. Former Vice Presidents Hamid Ansari and Venkaiah Naidu were also present at the event.
