Una, September 12- Himachal government is providing financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh under the Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana to eligible families of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes for building permanent houses. This assistance is given only to those people in whose name the land is registered and whose annual income does not exceed Rs 50 thousand. Beneficiaries have to submit their applications with all the necessary documents in the office of Tehsil Welfare Officer.

This information was given by the theatre group RK Kalamanch Chintapurni, associated with the Department of Information and Public Relations, while making the villagers aware through songs, music and street plays in Godri Sidh and Jwar villages of Amb subdivision on Friday.
The artists said that this scheme is making the dreams of those poor families come true, who have their own land, but due to limited resources, they are unable to build permanent houses.
Along with this, the villagers were also given information on topics like Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana and Nasha Nivaran. Describing drug addiction as a serious social evil, the artists appealed to the people to stay away from drugs and also make the society aware of it.

*Special campaign has been launched to promote welfare schemes for SC category
It is noteworthy that the state government is running various schemes and programs under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Other Backward Classes. To take them to every village, a special public awareness campaign has been launched through cultural groups.
This campaign is being organized in two phases in Una district. Programs will be held in 20 Scheduled Caste dominated villages of the district, in which 4 programs will be organized in each assembly constituency. Special attention will also be given to de-addiction and social awareness in the campaign.

In this series, awareness programs will be organized in Amb's Ladoli and Maidi Khas on September 15, Pirthipur Nichla and Chalet Apparla of Gagret on September 16, Chowki and Dhawali on September 17 and Tyaar and Boul of Bangana on September 18. Whereas, in the second phase, awareness programs will be organized by Purvi Kalamanch Jalgran Tabba from October 6 to 10.
In this, people will be entertained and informed about the schemes being run in public interest through songs, music and street plays in Balh-Kholi and Paroiyaan Kalan of Bangana on October 6, Khadd Khas and Bhadsali Tholian of Haroli on October 7, Saloh Upper and Dulahad Apparla on October 8, Dhamandri and Kuriyala of Una on October 9 and Bahdala and Sasan on October 10.
On this occasion, head of Dharamshala Mahanta Panchayat Ashok Kumar, head of Jwar Panchayat Sandeep Rana, secretary Gaurav Kumar along with ward members of panchayats and local people were present.
