
Muslim community makes remarkable contribution to flood victims in Derabassi.
Derabassi, September 7: The terrible floods in Punjab have badly affected the lives of the common people. In such a time of crisis, every section of the society has taken a commendable initiative by coming forward to help the flood victims, showing solidarity and humanity. Derabassi constituency MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa also actively participated in this episode.

He was accompanied by Naresh Upneja, husband of Municipal Council President Ashu Upneja. Randhawa said emotionally, "I have a deep connection with this society for the last three generations. Religion does not teach us to have enmity. Supporting each other by putting aside caste, religion is our real identity."
MLA Randhawa said that so far about fifteen trucks of relief material have been delivered to the flood victims from Dera Bassi. Today, relief material was organized in Jama Masjid Dera Bassi. Where the Muslim community of Dera Bassi constituency contributed to the relief material. In which seven trucks of relief material have been collected so far.
Out of which two vehicles have come from Roorkee carrying relief material, two vehicles have come from Saharanpur, one has come from Noida and two vehicles are leaving from Dera Bassi. This material is being delivered to the flood victims. The relief material includes tarpaulins, mosquito nets, medicines, slippers, food and drink items and other necessary items.
Kuljit Singh Randhawa described this noble work as a symbol of the unity of the society and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Muslim community on behalf of himself and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said, "When Punjab wakes up, the walls of caste and religion automatically collapse. This initiative of the community in these difficult times is commendable. It shows that we all support each other like a family." Although MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa has been suffering from fever for the last three days, he still actively participated in the relief material campaign. He believes that in such times, serving together is the greatest religion. This initiative has set a new example of the spirit of brotherhood and humanity in the entire region.
