Chandigarh, July 31 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, while paying tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh Ji on his martyrdom day, said that his sacrifice in the fight for India's independence is an unparalleled example of patriotism, courage and self-sacrifice. Udham Singh Ji sacrificed everything for the freedom of Mother India. Even today, his name is written in golden letters in the history of the freedom struggle. Today's day inspires us to imbibe his ideals and play an active role in nation building.

The Chief Minister was addressing the function organized on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh at the main shrine Baba Bhumanshah Ji (Sangar Sarista) in Sirsa on Thursday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to give a plot to Kamboj Sabha in Panchkula. Also, plots in Fatehabad, Kaithal and Jagadhri will be provided to them on priority basis after applying by the Sabha. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also announced to rename village Bada Suleman in Hisar as Udhampura.
On the demand to build a Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in his name on the land of Baba Bhumanshah Mukh Dham, the Chief Minister said that the work of completing it will be done after getting its feasibility checked. On the demand to make a Rangoi Nallah from the Ghaggar river and make it pass through village Rampura Dhani, the Chief Minister announced to get it completed after getting its feasibility checked. On the demand for reservation in Class-1 and Class-2 jobs in the OBC category, the Chief Minister said that the OBC Commission will be informed about this and work will be done to implement it. Apart from this, other demands will be sent to the concerned departments under disability check.

Shaheed Udham Singh fought against lies, injustice and exploitation
Shri Naib Singh Saini, while paying tribute to the national hero Shaheed Udham Singh Ji, said that Shaheed Udham Singh Ji lost his life in the year 1940 while fighting against lies, injustice and exploitation. His sacrifice created an awakening among the countrymen for freedom. He said that history is a witness to the fact that many patriots like Udham Singh, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Azad and Madan Lal Dhigra chose the thorny path to break the chains of slavery of Mother India and created a history of sacrifices by following it.
He said that when Udham Singh was only 20 years old, the heart-wrenching incident of Jallianwala Bagh on April 13, 1919 had a deep impact on his heart and mind. He was shocked to see that massacre and at that time, Udham Singh applied the martyrdom soil of Jallianwala Bagh on his forehead and swore that he would definitely take revenge for this massacre.
This great son fought against the imperial power on the very ground, in whose empire the sun never set, to avenge the blood of the innocent and innocent people of his motherland. He set a unique example of patriotism, sacrifice and selflessness before the countrymen, which will continue to inspire generations to come.
He said that Udham Singh avenged that bloody incident by shooting Michael O. Dyer at Captain Hall in London on March 13, 1940. On June 5, 1940, he was sentenced to death at the Central Criminal Court, Old Valley and Udham Singh was hanged at Pentonville Jail in London on July 31, 1940.
He said that like the martyr Udham Singh, many heroes had sacrificed their lives for freedom. His dream was to end the British rule in the country and ensure the welfare and upliftment of every citizen of the country. To realize his dream, the government has been striving to ensure that the aspirations of all sections of the society progress, that everyone should be uplifted and that everyone should get equal rights. In this direction, the government has taken many concrete steps to bring the benefits of development to those people who have been left behind due to various reasons.

War Memorial is being built in Ambala to remember the soldiers of 1857
The Chief Minister said that we cannot repay the debt of our martyrs for their sacrifices, but we can certainly express our gratitude towards them. With this aim, a war memorial is being built in Ambala to pay homage to the soldiers of 1857 and keep their memory alive. This memorial will continue to inspire the new generations to adopt the same patriotism as those great warriors. The government has increased the pension of freedom fighters and their widows from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 40 thousand per month.
He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also taken special care of the backward classes with the spirit of Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas. The Prime Minister has given constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission. The Union Cabinet has the highest delegation of OBCs so far. OBCs get reservation in medical education, central schools, Navodaya schools and military schools.
He said that the Haryana government has also taken many steps for the welfare and upliftment of backward classes under the guidance of the Prime Minister. In Panchayati Raj institutions, 8 percent reservation has been given to Backward Class (A) and 5 percent reservation has been given to Backward Class (B) and 5 percent reservation has been given to Panch posts in the ratio of 50 percent of their population. In urban local corporations, 5 percent reservation has been given to Backward Class B in the posts of Mayor/President and 50 percent reservation has been given to members in the ratio of their population in the concerned municipality. An amount of Rs. 51,000 is given under the marriage of girls of families with an annual income of up to Rs. 1 lakh 80 thousand.

All citizens take a pledge to work together for the unity and reconstruction of the nation
The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working to realize the dreams of the martyrs. We have to preserve the invaluable heritage of freedom gained through the struggle, sacrifice and sacrifice of the martyrs. Martyrs always remain in peace. The Chief Minister appealed that on the occasion of Martyrs' Day, we all should take a pledge to protect the unity and integrity of the nation and work together for the reconstruction of the nation and the state.

Youth should take inspiration from the martyrs and serve the nation by becoming true patriots - Baba Brahm Das
On this occasion, Baba Brahm Das, the incumbent of Dera Baba Bhumanshah Ji, while welcoming Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, said that the Chief Minister is ready for public service day and night and is working for the welfare and upliftment of every section. Baba Brahm Das appealed to the youth to take inspiration from the martyrs of the country, adopt good morals and serve the nation by becoming true patriots. He said that the youth are the future of the country. Just as the martyrs gave us the opportunity to breathe in the open air of freedom, in the same way we also have to contribute to the defense and progress of the country.
Raising his voice against drugs, Baba Brahm Das appealed to the people present that we will all together eradicate this social evil from the root. Our efforts will continue until drugs are eradicated.
