Nawanshahr/Rahon- State Media Incharge of the Joint Action Committee of 27 employees, laborers and social organizations of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Baldev Bharti said that under the chairmanship of the Committee Coordinator Mr. Jasbir Singh Pal Ji, a 31-point demand letter was handed over to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's residence in Sangrur on 6 December 2022 regarding the legitimate issues burning in the society.
After this successful demonstration, a 3-hour long meeting was held with the leaders of the organizations in relation to the demand letter, which included Chairman Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on 22 December 2022 at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh.
Thanks to the struggle of the committee, pressure was put on the Punjab government and Mr. Ramesh Kumar Genta IAS, Chief Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department, Punjab, submitted a detailed report of 257 pages regarding the committee's 31-issue demand letter to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on 16 August 2023. Baldev Bharti said that the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab government is not even making this report public, let alone implementing this Genta report.
The Punjab government has been suppressing this report for 2 years and is harming the interests of Dalits, employees, workers, students and the common people. Despite repeated contacts by the leaders of the committee with Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, the Punjab government has been evading.
Due to which there is huge resentment among the people. Baldev Bharti also said that to give a jolt to the Punjab government regarding this Ganta report, according to the next program, on 16 August 2025, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema's residence in Dhuri Road, Sangrur and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora's residence in Sunam, Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President, will be surrounded by symbolic protests.
If the Punjab government still does not wake up, then on 6 December 2025, a strong protest will be held in front of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's residence in Sangrur. A large number of people will participate in this struggle and the committee leaders are also holding meetings in various areas continuously.
