Chandigarh, July 25 - Haryana Transport Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that now general passengers will also be able to travel in buses serving Common Entrance Test (CET) exams in various cities of Haryana on July 26 and 27, 2025. He said that his suggestion in this regard has been agreed/accepted by Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini as July 27 is the festival of Teej in Haryana and on this festival day most of the people travel with their families. He said that it is also important to ensure smooth, uninterrupted and safe public transport services for the general public.
Giving more information in this regard, Mr. Vij said that he had written to the Chief Minister in this regard, on which the Chief Minister has expressed the opinion of the Transport Minister. According to the letter written by the Transport Minister, the Chief Minister has agreed so that the general public does not have to face any inconvenience during the Teej festivals. Therefore, the general public has now been allowed to travel in the buses whose schedule and route have been fixed for CET candidates.
In his suggestion, Mr. Vij had written to the Chief Minister that in his opinion it is not right that 20% of the buses cannot carry the load of the entire Haryana on July 26 and 27 because a large number of citizens travel on that day on the occasion of Teej festivals, therefore more buses should be arranged for the general public, to which the Chief Minister has agreed.
It is worth mentioning that in response to a proposal by the Transport Minister regarding the provision of travel facility for the written examination of HSSC CET, which is being organized by HSSC on 26th and 27th July, 2025, it has been decided to provide free travel facility to all registered CET candidates to appear for the examination across the state in view of the Common Eligibility Test (CET).
According to Mr. Vij, it was also informed that however, it is important to note that 27th July, 2025 is also the festival of Teej, which is a widely celebrated cultural and religious festival in Haryana, during which a large number of citizens, especially women, travel to visit their families and temples.
Therefore, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted and safe public transport services for the general public is equally important. Finally, it is necessary to determine what alternative and special arrangements have been made for the convenience of the general public and travelers to attend their religious, social, cultural, daily and other family functions, etc., so that they do not have to face any inconvenience and hindrance on these days.
