Sanitation workers are not just employees, they are the backbone of the cities and villages of the state.

Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said this while addressing sanitation workers from across the state at a program organized at the Chief Minister's residence Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh today. Sanitation workers from across the state had come to thank the Chief Minister today for the increase in the salary of sanitation workers by Rs 2100 on the occasion of Sant Kabir Jayanti. On this occasion, the Chief Minister greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Shivratri.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that I salute the sanitation workers, who are busy day and night in making every street, locality and road clean and beautiful. He said that you are all the protectors of health and guardians of the environment. Without you, the idea of a clean Haryana is also impossible. Your job is not just to collect garbage, but to lay the foundation of a healthy life, which is very important for every citizen of Haryana.
The Chief Minister said that the work of cleaning the sewer is risky. You do this work by risking your life. Your contribution is commendable. Whether it is cleanliness of the body or of your surroundings, it is directly related to our health. It is from our pride and dignity. It is from our social and economic development.
He said that President Mahatma Gandhi used to give cleanliness second place after God. He himself used to create awareness among the people about cleanliness by sweeping. Taking this idea forward, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October, 2014 on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, and the country took a new resolution.
The credit for fulfilling this resolution with full dedication goes first to the sanitation workers. You not only clean our villages and cities, but also make the thinking of the country clean. Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Sonepat has received the Ministerial Star Award under the Cleanest City Award. Similarly, Karnal city has secured the third position in the country in the population category of 50 thousand to 3 lakh.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has increased the salary of urban sanitation workers to Rs. 17 thousand per month and the salary of rural sanitation workers has also been increased to Rs. 16 thousand per month. He said that a provision of Rs 5 lakh has been made for the sanitation workers in case of death on duty and Rs 10 lakh in case of death while working in the sewer. 
Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the sanitation workers are brave warriors who are always ready for cleanliness. Today, the children of the DAC society are getting jobs. Our government is committed to the welfare of every section of the society. Our effort has been that the sanitation workers should not only get respect, but also get respect, rights and opportunities.
